About the position The City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our Water Distribution team as a Utility Systems Technician I - CDL or Utility Systems Technician II - CDL. The positions are scheduled to work Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, or Tuesday through Friday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Employees in these positions will be required to be available for emergency call-outs, work overtime, including nights and weekends, and be on standby as needed. Responsibilities Perform installation, maintenance, inspection and repair work on a water distribution system as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalency; , 1 year general construction and/or maintenance, installation, and repair experience for Utility Systems Technician I; , 2 years experience in construction, maintenance, repair work and/or equipment operation including at least 1 year of municipal, commercial or industrial pipe installation for Utility Systems Technician II; , Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record; , Ability to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL with tank endorsement within 6 months of hire or promotion date; , Ability to obtain and maintain a Temporary Traffic Control Safety Certification within 6 months of hire or promotion date.
