Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Policy Analyst – Regulatory Change & Industry Impact proficient in policy shifts and government regulation analysis, with the ability to identify opportunities arising from legislative changes, executive orders, and policy reforms. This remote contract role is ideal for candidates with public sector experience who can quickly assess market impact, interpret government terminology, and translate those developments into actionable investment insight.
Key Responsibilities:
• Policy Sensitivity and Opportunity Mapping: Maintain acute awareness of policy shifts (e.g., new legislation, executive orders, regulatory adjustments), identify their impact on specific industries, and pinpoint subtle yet potentially high-return opportunities arising from these changes.
• Translating Policy into Market Language: Leverage deep understanding of policy texts to convert government regulations and policy documents into actionable market insights for investment strategies.
• Public Sector Expertise: Utilize experience within government institutions to analyze the underlying implications of governmental actions, fiscal policies, and trade regulations, and determine how these drive growth in emerging technology industries such as rare earths and artificial intelligence.
• Investment Strategy Alignment: Collaborate with investment teams to translate policy-driven insights into actionable strategies. Provide portfolio construction recommendations based on emerging policy trends and regulatory shifts.
• Policy Briefings & Reports: Author concise, high-level reports and presentations, distilling complex policy documents into clear, actionable investment insights.
• Global Policy Monitoring: Continuously track global and regional policy shifts, government decisions, and geopolitical dynamics, analyzing their potential market impacts and identifying policy-driven opportunities.
Qualifications:
• Public Sector Experience: 10+ years of policy analysis experience within government agencies, regulatory bodies, or international organizations. Experience with legislative and regulatory change preferred.
• Policy Insight and Market Sensitivity: Ability to identify shifts in policy language (e.g., new bills, reform proposals, executive orders) and translate them into investment opportunities. Highly attuned to the impact of policy on market dynamics.
• Analytical Skills: Proven experience analyzing policy documents, executive orders, legislative texts, and government reports, translating them into actionable investment insights.
• Non-Financial Industry Experience: This is not a traditional financial analyst role. We are seeking professionals deeply skilled in policy analysis rather than financial market analysis, with a focus on identifying policy-driven opportunities.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with government terminology and the ability to translate policy language into investment language.
