Join ICF as a 2026 Summer Intern to contribute to renewable energy projects and develop expertise in a fully remote, 10-week program.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
• Develop and review project documentation.
• Perform energy modeling and/or technical reviews for solar, wind, renewable fuels, and/or battery energy storage systems projects.
• Research technology development and manufacturing trends.
• Work with the carbon intensity team and help develop training tools.
• Read, interpret, and critique project/system design drawings.
• Apply technical background to evaluate new technologies.
• Document reviews and analyses with sufficient technical depth but accessible to non-technical clients.
About You
The company is looking for candidates with:
• A minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy engineering), Computer Sciences or related field.
• Preferred: Completed bachelor’s degree plus enrollment verification in a Master’s degree program in Engineering, Computer Sciences or related field.
• Strong interest in the renewable energy industry.
• Knowledge of PVsyst for solar engineering candidates.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, VBA, Python, and/or project management tools.
• Experience in developing and managing documentation and data analysis.
• Ability to read and comprehend project engineering drawings and documentation.
• Strong intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm to learn beyond daily tasks.
• Capability to extract trends, extrapolate, and understand information from data sets.
• Technical research skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to varied audiences.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits
• Full-time, 10-week internship starting early June 2026.
• Fully remote internship from any U.S. location; no relocation assistance available.
• Pay: $23/hour for undergraduate interns; $28/hour for graduate interns.
• Annual pay range for full-time employment: $34,564.00 - $71,098.00 (based on experience, skills, location, and other factors).

Interns receive opportunities to work on assignments fostering growth, develop solutions within the renewable energy sector, and gain subject matter expertise and project management skills through client engagements, peer interactions, and specialized training.
