Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at American Express. Key Responsibilities: Contribute to the analysis of business, application, and technical infrastructure requirements Support the design, build, development, and integration of infrastructure to support the business portfolio or platform, focusing on robustness, scalability, availability, and efficiency Lead initiatives that deliver end-to-end infrastructure solutions that adhere to Innovation standards Plan, assign, and manage the effective use of Functional Support resources throughout the development life cycle Manage break/fix, incident, and problem activities across the team Oversee Architects or Execution Consultants in the local market group Monitor, control, and report Functional Support consumption throughout the development life cycle Serve as the primary point of contact for business/development groups or vendors needing support in resolving issues Collaborate with Operations resources to prevent/anticipate issues where necessary Enforce production readiness practices and work with the use of technical informed authority expertise to optimize the design of technical solutions/enhancements Participate in quality assessments by supporting quality rating measures on key changes Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for the production and management support capability Deliver ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) compliance process conformance for incident, problem, and change management Requirements: 2+ years of engineering experience in a mainframe environment Experience with design and implementation of mainframe and distributed applications 2+ years of experience with mainframe systems, hardware, and operating systems 2+ years of experience monitoring issues, change and incident lines, enforcing compliance with capability, root cause analysis, and change quality targets Preferred Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Prior experience in a operations or support role What We Offer: Competitive salary of $27/hour Full-time, remote opportunity with immediate openings available Opportunities to work with the latest technologies and contribute to the wider engineering community through open source Dedicated time to invest in your professional development Join Our Team!
