Summary: The Director of Clinical Compensation is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing compensation strategies for all clinical roles across the organization. This leader ensures that compensation programs attract, retain, and reward high‑performing clinical talent while maintaining equity, regulatory compliance, financial sustainability, and alignment with organizational goals and clinical workforce strategy. The role requires close partnership with clinical leadership from the contracting to compensation processes for all clinicians.

Responsibilities
- Lead and direct the clinical compensation administration function from contracting to gross pay calculations.
- Lead the design, implementation, and administration of the company’s clinical compensation system and tools.
- Develop and manage market‑competitive compensation frameworks for clinical roles (physicians and APPs, and other licensed clinical staff).
- Use clinical performance data, workforce trends, and operational needs to inform compensation strategy, consistent with broader clinical leadership practices.
- Oversee base pay structures, incentive plans, shift differentials, premium pay models, and total cash strategies tailored to clinical labor markets.
- Lead design of clinician incentive plans (e.g., productivity, quality, access, on‑call, financial incentives).
- Serve as the primary strategic advisor to executive leaders on clinical compensation philosophy.
- Partner and collaborate with Clinical Operations to build standard and best-practice compensation programs.
- Provide consultation, tools, and training to HR partners and operational leaders on compensation decisions.
- Maintain governance processes for reviewing, updating, and approving compensation programs.
- Recommend process improvements and automation to increase accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in compensation administration.
Qualifications
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate clinical and operational needs into compensation solutions.
- Strong understanding of compensation principles, labor market dynamics, and healthcare regulatory frameworks.
- Strong mathematical and analytical facility; ability to synthesize, manipulate, and interpret data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to distill and display information in a clear and concise manner and to communicate across multiple audiences
- Solid technical and analytical ability using spreadsheets, databases, and other systems/software; comfortable learning and building proficiency in new tools and software systems
- Experience building and delivering training presentations
- Ability to lead complex projects in a highly matrixed organization.

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in compensation, with at least 3+ years supporting clinical or healthcare roles.
- Deep knowledge of healthcare compensation models, clinical labor markets, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in compensation modeling and large‑scale data analysis.
