The Role: CFD Engineering Intern As a CFD Engineering Intern, you will support the design and simulation of thermal and fluid systems used in data center environments. This role exists to help improve cooling performance and contribute to digital twin modeling of Switch infrastructure. You will work alongside engineering teams to build 3D models, perform simulations, and document results that inform design decisions. This is a hands-on role focused on applying CFD principles in real-world systems. What Youll Do - Develop 3D CAD models for piping and fluid cooling systems used in CFD simulations - Perform CFD simulations to analyze fluid flow and thermal performance - Create visualizations and animations of fluid behavior within system models - Document modeling workflows and simulation processes for repeatability - Support development of simulation approaches for components such as heat exchangers, turbines, and GPUs - Participate in system modeling activities using tools such as SysML - Assist in preparing technical reports and presentation materials - Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret results and improve designs What Were Looking For - You have a strong interest in thermal and fluid systems - You are detail-oriented and methodical in your work - You are comfortable learning new tools and technologies - You communicate clearly and document your work effectively - You are curious and motivated to understand system behavior What Youll Bring Required: - Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field - Experience with 3D CAD modeling for mechanical or fluid systems - Familiarity with CFD concepts and simulation tools - Basic understanding of piping systems and engineering schematics - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Preferred: - Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or PTC Creo - Experience with CFD tools such as ANSYS or Cadence - Familiarity with P&IDs and system diagrams - Exposure to SysML or system modeling tools - Prior internship or project experience in engineering environments We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every preferred qualification.
