Facilities Associate

Role and Responsibilities: As a Facilities Associate, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations that ensure USPS facilities are clean, safe, and properly maintained. You will assist in the coordination of routine repairs and facility-related tasks that are vital to the overall functionality of our infrastructure. • Perform general maintenance duties such as cleaning, minor repairs, and equipment inspections • Assist in facility operations including furniture setup, supply restocking, and room arrangements • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized maintenance or repair services • Monitor HVAC, lighting, and plumbing systems and report any issues for escalation • Ensure all work areas are safe, clean, and compliant with USPS standards • Support safety initiatives by promptly addressing hazards and ensuring facility security protocols are followed • Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and report reordering needs Required Skills and Experience: • Basic knowledge of facility maintenance tasks and cleaning procedures • Ability to use standard hand tools and maintenance equipment • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety and operational guidelines • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks • Good communication skills for reporting and coordination with team members Preferred Qualifications: • Previous experience in facilities or building maintenance roles • Familiarity with HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, and general repair practices • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment About USPS: The United States Postal Service (USPS) is one of the largest employers in the nation and is known for its commitment to delivering reliable, secure, and affordable mail services.
