Job Summary As a Student Services Associate with an Academic Placement Focus, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic placement life cycle for students from initial course placement through returning student placement or schedule changes. You'll work remotely from a home office, reporting to the Supervisor of Student Services, and be an integral part of our Customer Engagement & Retention Department. Primary Responsibilities • Review academic and supporting documentation to build a thorough academic picture and ensure accurate course placement. • Create initial student schedules based on age and available information or triage to school-based staff for additional review. • Complete placement and schedule change requests for enrolled students, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruptions. • Assist with account creation for Supplemental Instructional Support Programs and enrollment into requested Clubs & Activities, enhancing the overall student experience. • Manage daily workflow to ensure completeness and compliance with expected service levels, including reviewing student accounts holistically and being a subject matter expert for a group of schools. • Maintain student accounts and records, documenting and logging information into the EMS accurately, and protecting student account information through compliance with FERPA guidelines. • Organize and complete assigned workflow to ensure effective time management, accurate data integrity, efficient communication, and student retention. Required Skills and Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: • A problem-solving attitude with the ability to achieve goal-driven outcomes. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with students and families across multiple generations. • Self-confidence, patience, empathy, and availability, with a strong customer-centric approach. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint), with the ability to adapt to new systems and technologies. • A demonstrated understanding of FERPA guidelines and internal policies regarding student and employee privacy. • Previous experience in education or academic advising is preferred, along with a Bachelor's Degree. • Experience working in a virtual environment, with prior experience working in multiple EMS/SIS/Enrollment platforms. What We Offer At Pearson, we offer a competitive salary, with a full-time salary range of $21.63/HR ($44,990.40).
