About the position The Senior Legal Services Specialist at UnitedHealthcare plays a crucial role in supporting the Medicare & Retirement Legal team and segment Business Leads. This position involves collaboration with business teams to develop strategies for product expansions, drafting and reviewing contracts, managing project coordination, and conducting legal research. The role requires strong analytical and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a small team while managing multiple deadlines. Responsibilities • Work closely with business teams to develop and support strategies for product expansions. • Prepare applications for state licenses and assist with legal components of applications to federal agency, CMS. • Draft, review, and revise contracts and agreements, including sales agent agreements and non-disclosure agreements. • Review materials for members, providers, agents, and pharmacies to identify legal risks or regulatory concerns. • Coordinate projects within the team and with other departments, managing communication and tracking progress. • Gather background information and conduct legal research on specific issues, preparing summaries for attorneys. Requirements • 3+ years working in a legal or regulatory environment or supporting corporate attorneys. • Solid organizational skills and ability to coordinate projects. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ADOBE. Nice-to-haves • Self-starter and independent thinker who knows when to seek guidance. • Experience working with contracts, including review, drafting, and negotiating skills. • Experience in the healthcare or managed care industry, or with federal or state government health care programs. • Demonstrated research skills using various resources. • Comfort with uncertainty and ability to navigate a complex organization. • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
