Retail Channel Strategy & Portfolio Manager – Home Improvement Department / Reporting Department: Sales Operations Reports To: VP of Sales Operations Position Overview The Retail Channel Strategy & Portfolio Manager owns the commercial performance of the company’s product portfolio across major home improvement retailers. This role is responsible for analyzing retail assortments, diagnosing SKU-level performance, and developing data-driven recommendations that support product line reviews, SKU rationalization, and portfolio expansion. Serving as a strategic partner to Sales, this role translates POS, inventory, and shopper insights into merchant-ready recommendations that improve assortment productivity, space efficiency, and profitability. This is a sales-adjacent, analytics-driven channel role—not a retail media or campaign execution position. Key Responsibilities – Channel Strategy & Assortment Ownership - Analyze retail assortments, SKU productivity, sales mix, margin contribution, and inventory performance - Lead product line reviews and assortment reset recommendations - Develop SKU rationalization proposals (additions, deletions, substitutions) - Build portfolio storytelling for merchant presentations - Partner with Sales on assortment negotiations and growth strategies Retail Merchandising & In-Store Execution - Translate portfolio strategy into merchandising programs and displays - Support planogram placement and reset execution - Evaluate merchandising effectiveness using sales and productivity metrics Digital Shelf & eCommerce Performance - Optimize digital shelf assortment and content quality - Ensure digital execution supports line review and assortment objectives - Analyze conversion and content health metrics Analytics & Reporting - Build dashboards analyzing POS, inventory, and assortment productivity - Translate data into actionable recommendations for leadership Qualifications - 6+ years in channel strategy, sales operations, category management, or trade marketing - Direct experience with retail assortments and line reviews - Strong analytical skills (POS, inventory, GMROI) - Experience with Home Depot, Lowe’s, or Menards preferred Apply tot his job
