The pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance (pCPA) is dedicated to enhancing access to cost-effective medicines through collective negotiations. The Analyst role involves supporting research and analysis within the Analytics division, contributing to various projects aimed at developing standards and best practices for pCPA initiatives. Responsibilities Analytical support on pCPA Negotiations Broad pharmaceutical market analyses including the appraisal of industry and government reports pertaining to the pharmaceutical sector Reporting of pCPA Key Performance & Risk Indicators (KPI/KRI) Data acquisition, extraction & management Designs, maintains, and manages databases that integrate data from multiple sources to support pCPA negotiations and metrics reporting Undertakes research and trends analysis of negotiation methods and techniques to prepare summary analyses and to report on its findings Participates in the production of data-driven analysis and appraisals of reports relating to the pharmaceutical ecosystem (e.g., government, independent health organizations, associations, industry) Supports methods to ensure consistency in the development of negotiation strategies and the development and administration of service contracts and arrangements across jurisdictions Compares and contrasts existing agreements to standards and negotiation mandates for alignment Assists in supporting negotiation such as estimating costs, developing tools and templates, identifying potential issues, analysis and synthesizing research and related materials Assist general project support including project design, creation of workplans; monitor project progress to identify potential risk; proposes solution to resolve arising problems; and prepares draft and final deliverables (e.g., report, communication materials) Supports the preparation of training and resource materials Assists in designing, building and maintaining organization’s data system, which may include data negotiation metrics, contract elements and drug expenditures, with a high-level of data integrity that would be available to address a broad range of analytical research questions Gathers data from various internal and external sources, ensuring its accuracy, consistency and completeness and, where appropriate, detects and corrects errors Transforms data to standardized formats to structure data for efficient analyses Interprets data by analyzing, explaining and forecasting; data visualization Co-develops data administration standards and policies Supports the development of policy, option papers, slide presentations, memos, and briefing notes for senior management/executives involving a variety of drug-related matters to support organization’s goals Prepares clear and accurate reports for internal and Board use, including technical summaries, evidence based insights, data tables, charts, etc. to support strategic analysis and decision making Supports with inquiries from all levels relating to drug-related issues and interpretation of policies and guidelines Helps with research and consults with staff and other partners to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is provided for senior management/executive approval Supports: issue identification, analysis and synthesis of research and related materials, partner consultations, impact analysis, development of options and recommendations, operational policy development, and evaluation of projects and initiatives Skills Bachelor's degree in biostatistics, health informatics, business administration or a clinical/scientific discipline (including, but not limited to pharmacy, pharmacology or medical sciences) or equivalent 1 to 3 years of experience working in pharmaceutical sciences, health economics, health services, or related experience would be considered an asset Experience working in healthcare, government or regulatory organizations is an asset Experience or education in health economic evaluation (cost-utility analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, budget impact analysis) is an asset Experience or education in organizational performance evaluation (including Key Risk Indicators or Key Performance Indicators) is an asset Experience with data visualization is an asset (especially regarding creation of data-driven dashboards, including, but not limited to, the use of R, Python, SAS, PowerBI, Tableau, or Excel) As English is the primary working language at the pCPA, exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English are required In-depth understanding of the Canadian pharmaceutical industry and government processes Exceptional ability to engage, respond to needs, and build working relationships with all partners, fostering a dynamic organizational culture Proven problem-solving abilities, adaptable with strong judgment, making decisions based on established procedures Strong business and digital acumen Effective written and verbal communication skills in French (asset) Benefits The pCPA provides a group benefits package for temporary employees from the first day of employment.
