Public Health Program Specialist

Job Title: Public Health Program Specialist (Part-Time) Location: Missouri (In-State Travel Required) Schedule: Minimum of 16 hours per week, with flexibility to work remotely based on business needs. Specific schedule to be determined in coordination with supervisor. Employment Type: Part-Time The applicant shall be competent in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, and Qualtrics Experience Management (XM) software or an equivalent software. General Summary: This second-level professional position is responsible for planning, promoting, implementing, and evaluating public health programs, services, and grants. The role may also involve implementing environmentally influenced public health laws and regulations. The incumbent will work closely with program partners, contractors, and agencies to ensure effective program delivery. Responsibilities include conducting surveys, assisting in budget development, coordinating public health events, and supporting the development of outreach materials and research analysis. The position also includes supporting GME communications until the Transition Advisory Council (TAC) is fully online and takes on these responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Assist in research and data analysis, including conducting surveys and reporting. Develop outreach materials and resources for public health programs and events. Provide assistance and guidance to program partners, contractors, and agencies involved in program implementation. Participate in day-to-day program activities such as conducting inspections and surveys. Assist in the development of program budgets. Support and help implement public health initiatives aligned with department goals. Occasionally work evenings and weekends to support special events or program activities. Required Qualifications/Skills: Competence in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel. Experience with Qualtrics Experience Management (XM) software or equivalent software. Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities. Strong communication skills for collaborating with various stakeholders. Ability to perform data analysis, report generation, and survey management. Preferred Qualifications/Skills: Medical experience is helpful, but not required. Additional Requirements: Willingness to travel in-state overnight to support the Missouri GME Conference (April 28-30, 2025), in St. Charles, MO. Some rare evening or weekend work may be required, particularly around the GME Conference schedule. The role will provide essential support in GME communications, meetings, and development of resources until the TAC assumes those responsibilities. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of individual and community health issues related to public health programs. Ability to work with considerable independence in performing a wide range of duties to support public health initiatives. Ability to guide and support others involved in program implementation. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to assist with decision-making and report generation. Typical Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in public health, healthcare, or a related field. 2 or more years of relevant professional experience (substitutions may be allowed based on qualifications).
