Product Portfolio Manager (Pharma Group) (Remote Role with 25-30% Travel) Candidates Must Be Located on the East Coast. Our client is a successful industrial and pharmaceutical manufacturing company and they are looking for a Product Portfolio Manager to join their team! This person will be part of the Pharma/Biotech team and will be responsible for leading product strategy and lifecycle management within the MPT organization. The role oversees the full product portfolio for the pharma/biotech customer segment, ensuring offerings align with market needs and support long-term growth. This global role collaborates extensively across R&D, engineering, logistics, finance, sales, marketing, and service. Key responsibilities include shaping product strategy, developing roadmaps, guiding new product development, and driving strong voice-of-customer practices. The position requires cross-functional influence, excellent communication, and up to 30% travel. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead product portfolio management from concept through launch to end-of-life • Define long-term product strategies to support growth, platform evolution, and market positioning • Identify and evaluate portfolio needs, including new product opportunities for the pharma/biotech segment • Track market trends, customer requirements, and competitive activity to inform product decisions • Build and validate product concepts using structured voice-of-customer research • Develop value propositions and collaborate with marketing on messaging and materials • Support sales initiatives targeted at the pharma/biotech vertical • Serve as the internal champion for the vertical across teams, regions, and key accounts • Provide product training and support to field teams • Promote an 80/20 customer-driven approach and use key metrics to track performance KEY SKILLS Customer Focus • Actively gathers voice-of-customer insights • Maintains strong customer connections through field visits and industry events Product & Portfolio Leadership • Clear communicator and advocate for product strategy • Strong cross-functional influence and problem-solving skills • Ability to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies • Effective collaborator and team leader Business Skills • Solid understanding of financial metrics • Skilled in roadmap development and go-to-market planning Industry Knowledge • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing technologies and applications • Awareness of competitive landscape REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, molecular biology, chemistry, or a related field • 5+ years of product management experience with equipment used in pharmaceutical manufacturing • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization • Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Project management experience • Master’s degree in a life science or related discipline • Commercial sales experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment This is a full-time opportunity that is offering 160-185K base, depending on experience, plus bonus.
