Position Information Vacancy Number: S-01209 Position Title: Part-Time Audiologist Classification Title: Department: Communication Disorders Employment Type: Part-Time Special Instructions to Applicants: Auburn University at Montgomery reserves the right once interviewing has begun to stop accepting applications. Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide clinical instruction and supervision of the audiology clinical activities for undergraduate students acquiring observation and practicum experience, and act as a clinical preceptor for doctoral students in the Auburn Au.D. program who are acquiring practicum experience in the Auburn Montgomery clinic. • Provide and coordinate direct and comprehensive audiological testing and evaluation services to patients; determine need for and administer appropriate tests and measures, correctly assess test results, plan and carry out habilitative/rehabilitative care of patients as needed. • Evaluate, fit, program, and dispense state of the art hearing aids and amplification systems appropriately to patient candidates, performing routine maintenance and minor repairs of hearing aids and assistive listening devices. • Counsel patients and their families regarding evaluation results and plan of care. • Document all clinical patient interactions, including evaluation, treatment and consultation recommendations and ensure that these reports are signed and placed appropriately in patient charts. • Document student goals and assessments of their skills. • Ensure work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, and efficient environment for patients, their family members and employees. • Complete necessary continuing education activity to maintain an Alabama license to practice audiology. • Attend required program meetings. • Participate in/organize community education and outreach. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Knowledge of acceptable audiology practices • Knowledge of acceptable student supervision techniques • Knowledge of related AUM practices and services • Organizational skills • Presentation skills • Oral and written communication skills • Ability to instruct students Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate of audiology degree and experience equivalent to three years of employment in audiology or related work. Certificate of Clinical Competence is required.
