Job Overview The role of a Logistics Agent is to identify and understand our customer's transportation needs. Your main responsibilities will include receiving, booking and scheduling transportation orders to ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information. To be successful in this role one must be customer focused, should be able to think creatively about problems and overcoming them, and should have excellent interpersonal skills while delivering exceptional customer service to our customers. Responsibilities: • Prepare, handle, and process documentation, including house and master air waybills, commercial documents and customs/regulatory documents • Update shipment information it a timely and accurate manner into our operating system • Communicate effectively and timely with customers, vendors, and internal Expeditors network through high volume of email, phone, instant message, and in person • Review and monitor reports to understand individual performance, impact and opportunities for development • Accurately execute invoicing based on established customer SOP's, rate shells and Tariffs • Contribute to maintaining strong vendor relationships- airlines, trucking companies and others • Maintain compliance standards at all times- including internal policies and procedures, external government regulations and customer requirements • Escalate problems or decisions to Management based on established guidelines and procedures when necessary • Performing weekly payroll preparation for our clients using Quickbooks Desktop as well as file proper payroll taxes according to schedules • Prepare and file monthly/quarterly sales tax returns. • Performing bookkeeping & data entry and account reconciliation Skills • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including demand planning, procurement, sourcing, and inventory control. • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (such as SAP or AS400), and transportation management systems (TMS). • Data analysis skills using SQL, Tableau or similar tools for supply chain analytics and reporting. • Experience with warehouse distribution processes including shipping & receiving, materials handling, and stocking procedures. • Excellent negotiation skills for vendor management and contract negotiations; ability to manage freight costs effectively. • Mechanical knowledge beneficial for understanding warehouse equipment like forklifts; certification preferred. • Ability to perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot issues within the supply chain or warehouse operations. • Familiarity with 3PL logistics providers, NVOCC operations, freight forwarding, and transportation planning strategies. • Strong understanding of procurement processes including sourcing strategies and category management. • Analytical mindset with attention to detail for data collection, process improvement initiatives, and cost optimization efforts.
