Leader, Senior Corporate Counsel: Telecom & Market Access
About the position The Senior Corporate Counsel for Telecom & Market Access at Cisco will lead a team of legal professionals focused on global telecommunications regulations and market access issues. This role involves providing strategic legal advice, developing compliance policies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement legal strategies that align with business objectives. The position is integral to influencing and interpreting regulations that impact Cisco's operations and ensuring compliance with lawful intercept laws. Responsibilities • Manage a team of lawyers and regulatory specialists focused on regulatory topics such as global telecommunications and digital accessibility. • Provide strategic legal advice and support on telecommunications regulations and lawful intercept laws. • Develop policies, guidelines, and procedures to promote compliance with lawful intercept requirements. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and sales, to implement legal strategies that enable business objectives. • Partner with Cisco's Government Affairs team to help shape evolving regulations. • Recommend pragmatic solutions to potential compliance issues. Requirements • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and licensed in good standing. • 10+ years of relevant in-house legal and/or law firm experience with a focus on telecommunications regulations and lawful intercept laws. • Proven leadership skills with a track record of motivating and engaging legal professionals. • Strong experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop regulatory compliance strategies. • Excellent presentation and written communication skills to both business and legal audiences. Nice-to-haves • Experience working in a large technology company or similar industry. • Experience working with regulatory bodies and industry groups. • Knowledge of digital accessibility requirements.
