Job responsibilities Lead the end-to-end visual design strategy, ensuring solutions are not only aesthetically engaging and accessible but also aligned with business goals and user needs. Take ownership of the overall visual design direction across projects, guiding branding implementation, product styles, and visual standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, acting as a key player in the ideation, creation, testing, and delivery of design systems, UI elements, and other visual assets. Regularly evolve your designs based on user research, testing, and feedback, while ensuring that visual consistency is maintained across all platforms and touchpoints. Be the primary bridge between design, technology, and business teams, ensuring your vision is seamlessly executed in collaboration with developers and other stakeholders. Champion the continuous improvement of design practices by mentoring your team, facilitating knowledge sharing, and running workshops or feedback sessions. Actively engage in thought leadership within the design community, speaking at industry events and representing Thoughtworks’ design philosophy. Job qualifications Technical Skills Exceptional visual design skills with a strong eye for detail in color, layout, and typography. Experience with Design Systems and Interaction Design Ability to differentiate between “good” and “great” design, and a passion for pushing boundaries. Expertise in working closely with business and tech teams to bring real-world design solutions to life. Comfortable with trial and error, embracing feedback, and using prototyping to explore new ideas. Thorough experience with accessibility, usability, design patterns for web and mobile, and user research and testing. Professional Skills You excel in leading agile, cross-functional teams of technologists and designers, confidently directing and overseeing the planning of UI assets and visual deliverables across multiple projects. Complex, large-scale challenges captivate you and you have the ability to break them down into simple, strategic, and impactful visual solutions that drive business outcomes. As a seasoned storyteller, you not only communicate the customer and business value of design to stakeholders but also inspire teams with your vision, ensuring your ideas resonate at all levels of the organization. You are passionate about elevating your team, mentoring designers of all levels and providing structured learning opportunities to grow their skills and design expertise. A thought leader in your field, you actively contribute to the design community, both within and outside the organization, advocating for the importance of exceptional visual design.
