Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical or Counseling Psychologist to join our outpatient mental health team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality psychological services to individuals (primarily individual and couple therapy). As an outpatient clinic, client presenting concerns vary. There are assessment opportunities if desired by the candidate. The position is fully remote, and all services will be provided via telehealth. The candidate will need to be licensed in Texas but does not necessarily need to live in Texas. Competitive applicants may qualify for reimbursement of initial Texas licensing fees.
Duties
• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations for clients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs.
• Provide high-quality individual counseling and couple counseling (additional training in individual/couple counseling could be provided by the team as needed)
• Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with ethical/legal regulations.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic client care.
• Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote sessions.
• Stay updated on best practices in psychology and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
• Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an accredited institution.
• Valid Texas state licensure to practice as a psychologist.
• Proficiency in evidence based psychotherapies and psychological assessment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with adult clients.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines.
Benefits
• Competitive hourly rate. Full-time psychologists (21+ hours of clinical care a week) can expect to make between $109,000 to $234,000 a year depending on your caseload.
• Flexible schedule (you create your own hours)
• Comprehensive marketing, credentialing, and billing service
• Regular clinical/professional consultation
• Access to common symptom questionnaires and virtual psychological assessment protocols
• And more!
We are a very warm and friendly team that enjoys supporting each other. We take pride in the care we provide and regularly consult with each other. If you are interested in joining our team, please reach out to learn more about our program. You can also visit our website at www.vcstherapy.com.
Health Insurance
• Many psychologists who are used to salaried positions with part of their insurance premiums paid for by their employer may be hesitant to apply to a contract position. What may not be as obvious is that your employer was likely paying part of your premiums with money that would have been yours anyways. When we reviewed the numbers, you actually earn more if you are paid a higher hourly rate and then decide how to allocate those funds (W2 employees have additional taxes and fees). Fortunately, there are many affordable healthcare plans that we will show you. If you join our team, you get to decide what to do with your large paycheck, not us.
Federal Employees
• With the recent reduction in force (RIF) and return to office executive orders, we are aware many federal psychologists may be exploring careers in the private sector. All our team members have worked for or been trained in a federal organization (e.g., VA, DOD). We value the training, dedication, and integrity of federal psychologists and would love to learn more about you and your professional goals.
Texas License
• Although we encourage all of our team members to be members of PSYPACT (https://psypact.gov/), insurance companies require a Texas Psychology license (but you can still live in another state). Fortunately, it is relatively easy to get licensed in Texas. Once you pass the EPPP, you only need to complete the Texas Jurisprudence Exam. This can be completed online over a weekend since it is an open-book test about Texas laws and policies. Competitive applicants may qualify for reimbursement of initial Texas licensing fees. If you are interested in learning more about our company, let us know and we can set up a 30-minute information meeting.
