The Opportunity
We are building a new practice centered on representing businesses in complex matters involving federal agencies, regulatory compliance, and financial recovery. The work spans administrative proceedings, agency negotiations, and strategic advisory across a growing portfolio of clients.
We are seeking an Arizona-licensed attorney to join the firm in a senior role helping shape and lead this practice. Ideal candidates bring a strong background in tax, regulatory, or government-facing work and are comfortable operating at the intersection of compliance, controversy, and business strategy.
Role Overview:
Provide strategic direction for a growing practice area
Advise clients on risk, compliance, and resolution strategies involving federal agencies
Oversee workflows across administrative proceedings, agency interactions, and potential litigation
Supervise support staff handling documentation and case preparation
Serve as lead counsel on complex or escalated matters
Collaborate on practice development, client relationships, and firm growth
Qualifications (Required):
Active Arizona Bar license in good standing
5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
Substantive experience in one or more of the following:
Tax controversy, tax compliance, or IRS-related matters
Corporate tax planning or transactional tax work
Federal administrative proceedings or regulatory disputes
Government contracts, customs, or trade compliance
Ability to manage detail-oriented workflows across multiple matters
Strong independent judgment and comfort in a senior advisory role
Strongly Preferred:
Background representing small and mid-sized businesses
Experience developing or scaling a legal practice area
LLM in Taxation, CPA, or EA designation
Familiarity with federal court filing systems (CM/ECF, PACER)
