Role Overview The Senior Network Engineer will become an integral member of arenaflex’s U.S. and Canada Engineering teams, responsible for the design, deployment, and stewardship of critical network infrastructure that powers our call centers and data centers across multiple continents. This position blends hands‑on technical execution with strategic planning, ensuring high‑availability, secure, and scalable connectivity for millions of daily customer interactions. Key Responsibilities - Network Architecture & Design: Engineer end‑to‑end LAN/WAN solutions for campus and data‑center environments, including high‑performance routing, switching, and security designs. - Infrastructure Deployment: Lead the configuration, installation, and testing of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls, overseeing hardware refresh cycles and ensuring minimal service disruption. - VPN & Secure Connectivity: Implement and maintain Remote Access VPNs, Site‑to‑Site VPNs, GRE tunnels, and DMVPN solutions to enable secure global collaboration. - Firewall Management: Process firewall access requests, develop rule sets, and conduct periodic audits to align with security best practices. - Routing Optimization: Perform routing changes, route redistribution, and fine‑tune BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP configurations to optimize performance and redundancy. - Data‑Center Operations: Rack, cable, label, and physically verify equipment in data‑center environments, adhering to industry‑standard documentation practices. - Documentation & Diagramming: Create and maintain detailed network diagrams, SOPs, and change‑management records using industry‑standard tools. - Ticket Management: Respond to internal ticket requests, diagnose issues, and deliver timely resolutions while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. - Escalation & NOC Support: Provide on‑shift outage escalation support, collaborating closely with the Network Operations Center (NOC) to restore services. - On‑Call Rotation: Participate in a structured on‑call schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage for critical network incidents. Essential Qualifications - CCNP certification or higher, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. - 5+ years of hands‑on experience designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise LAN/WAN architectures. - Advanced troubleshooting expertise with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies (vPC, EtherChannel, StackWise, VSS). - Proficiency in Cisco Nexus and Catalyst platforms, including configuration of VRF and high‑availability features. - Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts to non‑technical audiences. - Demonstrated ability to produce accurate network diagrams, documentation, and change‑control records. Preferred Qualifications & Nice‑to‑Have Skills - Hands‑on experience with SD‑WAN solutions (e.g., Viptela, Cisco Viptela, Versa) and Cisco ACI fabric. - Exposure to cloud‑native networking, including Azure Virtual WAN or AWS Direct Connect. - Knowledge of network security technologies such as IDS/IPS, IPSec, and next‑generation firewalls. - Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Python scripting, Cisco DNA Center) to streamline provisioning and monitoring. - Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing platforms (ServiceNow, Jira).
