About the Role As a Senior Analytics Engineer at Walgreens, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated data infrastructure. Your mission will be to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization, particularly within the Walgreens Healthcare Quality Improvement program. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams of data analysts, BI engineers, system administrators, and stakeholders to deliver actionable insights that drive business performance and healthcare innovation. Key Responsibilities: Lead Data and Insights Initiatives: Oversee the delivery of data and insights projects and activities that support Walgreens Health, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Data Management and ETL: Manage long-term and ad-hoc data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data warehousing activities to meet reporting and analytics needs. Database and Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and deploy layered databases and data pipelines to support reporting and analytics projects. Data Standards and Governance: Develop data modeling and pre-processing standards for populating logical and physical data models linked to report-specific working tables. Data Integration and Quality: Apply best practices in data extraction, transformation, and loading to integrate large datasets from various internal and external sources. Data Analysis and Profiling: Perform data profiling and analysis across internal systems, manually maintained data, and standard healthcare datasets. Automation and Tool Development: Create internal tools for automating development-related activities such as data processing, QA, and data validation. Essential Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications: Bachelor's Degree: In a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering. Hands-on Experience: Proven experience in writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts. Data Engineering: Experience in designing and delivering isolated data environments using ETL/ELT services like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake. Thought Leadership: Experience in providing thought leadership and introducing tool-agnostic semantic data layer enhancements related to BI technology platforms. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor partners. Leadership Experience: At least 3 years of experience contributing to decision-making in the workplace and direct/indirect leadership or cross-functional team leadership. Travel: Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes. Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Data Management Certification: Certified Analytics Professional (CAP). Healthcare Experience: Experience with pharmacy, healthcare, and clinical research concepts.
