The Senior Salesforce Developer is a skilled technical lead and in-depth problem solver, leveraging their knowledge of our association management system (AMS) and customer relationship management system (CRM) to improve organizational effectiveness. This role administers, designs, and develops solutions in our AMS, CRM, and integrations with related third-party systems. This role requires knowledge of organizational data and processes, along with a strong technical understanding of the AMS (Fonteva) and CRM (Salesforce) from an administration, application, and development perspective. The position will collaborate with IT, internal stakeholders, and third-party vendors to provide the best overall solutions and support.
This position involves frequent new and changing work situations that require a motivated professional with strong analytical, communication, and technical skills, who is committed to working effectively within the team to deliver results and excellent customer service:
• Identifies, understands, and documents business requirements from stakeholders.
• Translates requirements into well-designed solutions that best leverage the AMS and CRM platforms.
• Monitors and resolves support tickets from Employees and Members related to Fonteva and Salesforce.
• Develops and maintains customizations and enhancements for the AMS and CRM using approved methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Functions as the lead support contact for the CRM and AMS vendors and serves as subject matter expert, mentor, trainer, and advisor to other stakeholders.
• Manage the specific nuances of Fonteva, including complex membership renewals and event configurations.
• Write and maintain Apex classes, triggers, flows, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Visualforce pages when standard configuration is insufficient.
• Handle routine Salesforce administration (Profiles, Roles, Permission Sets, Flow automation) and oversee seasonal releases/patches for both Salesforce and Fonteva.
• Able to articulate design considerations, trade-offs, benefits, and recommendations for the best solutions.
• Works closely with third-party vendors to securely integrate supporting applications into our tech stack via the development of APIs, endpoints, and data.
• Maintains a current sandbox environment where all system modifications and development will be tested before rolling out in production.
• Responsible for the creation of sandbox environments, management, and testing of CRM and AMS upgrades.
• Document system configuration, integration, and processes.
• Provides HQ Employees training and process documentation.
• Continuously evaluates and identifies opportunities to drive process improvements that positively impact members’ experience.
Education, Experience & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in support, implementation, administration, and development of Salesforce. (AMS Fonteva experience strongly preferred)
• Proficient understanding of Salesforce administration, including Salesforce Lightning framework, Salesforce Service Cloud, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Understanding of Salesforce data model, including standard and custom objects, relationships, and fields.
• Proven ability to understand business and end-user requirements and convert them into effective solutions.
• Deep Salesforce development skills, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL & SOSL, and Data Loader.
• Experience with Salesforce Agentic or Generative AI is preferred.
• Fonteva Specific Technical Stack includes Spark Framework, Fonteva Objects, and FDService.
• Experience implementing Salesforce APIs, SSO (SAML & OAuth), and integrations.
• Experience in other development technologies, such as PHP, SQL, HTML/CSS, XML, GitHub, jQuery, and JavaScript.
• Salesforce certifications, like Platform Developer I or II, App Builder, or Administrator, are preferred.

Hybrid Work Environment and Travel Requirements: The Academy of Management is in Valhalla, NY, in Westchester County. This position is currently hybrid and requires 2 working days per week in the office (Wednesdays and Thursdays). Minimal travel may be required, approximately 2% annually.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
