Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain robust monitoring solutions tailored to diverse IT environments.
- Utilize Checkmk to configure monitoring rules, alerting logic, service discovery and dashboards.
- Manage distributed monitoring setups, including hybrid cloud, VPN-connected and on-prem infrastructures.
- Develop and customize monitoring checks, rules and notifications within Checkmk.
- Integrate Checkmk with external systems such as ticketing platforms, messaging services and incident management tools.
- Troubleshoot complex systems and improve visibility across various platforms.
- Document monitoring strategies and provide support to internal and client teams.
Must-Have:
- Solid experience with Checkmk (preferably Enterprise Edition) in production environments.
- Proficient in Linux system administration and configuration.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash/Shell.
- In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, databases and applications.
- Familiarity with SNMP, agent-based monitoring and piggybacking techniques.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience integrating Checkmk with tools like MS Teams, Jira, or ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with other monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Knowledge of ITIL processes, particularly incident, problem and change management.
- Experience with plugin/extension development in Checkmk.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Checkmk, Linux, monitoring-related).
