This is a 3rd shift position, Monday-Friday: Nights (Midnight - 8AM), rotating weekends and holidays. We're seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to monitor and support mainframe, open systems, and server backup production schedules and workflow processes. Job Summary: As a Mainframe/TSM Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing troubleshooting support and problem remediation, including escalation to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are maintained. You will also assist with the deployment of new software to various test and production platforms. Key Responsibilities: Monitor, support, and troubleshoot production schedules and workflow processes for operating issues involving failures, degradation, and late dependency/successor event correlation using various monitoring tools. Triaging basic problems, taking corrective action to ensure availability and minimize downtime. Ensuring timely process completion and problem control. Following standard operating procedures and recommending new procedures or workflows to increase customer service and operational efficiency. Developing a comprehensive understanding of respective production schedules, job flows, and service level deadlines. Resolving moderately complex problem issues and/or processing delays. Completing checklists/turnover logs for audit compliance. Assisting with troubleshooting Remote File/Data Transmission delivery issues. Analyzing and evaluating reoccurring problems and making improvement recommendations to senior technicians or management. Maintaining technical documentation and standard operating procedures. Providing daily support to users and programming groups. Requirements: Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent 1-3 years of work experience. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Tape Storage Management (TSM) or other backup software products. Working knowledge of an automated mainframe/open system platform scheduling system, preferably IBM Tivoli. Experience with multiple hardware and software technologies: i.e., Windows, UNIX, MVS, IBM mainframe, JES2, and monitoring tools.
