Role Description You will be responsible for configuring all of Fiserv’s mainframe related hardware in our US and our global data centers: mainframes, disk, virtual tape and SAN switches. You will replace and upgrade hardware, keep up with fixes and patches and resolve problems to ensure deliverables are met. • Design and configure mainframe hardware systems to meet our global mainframe infrastructures needs • Diagnose and resolve hardware issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability • Monitor system performance and adjust to improve efficiency and effectiveness • Work closely with software engineers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration and operation of hardware and software systems • Maintain detailed documentation of hardware configurations, changes, and maintenance activities including connectivity diagrams • Utilize the IOCP mainframe to define and manage the input and output configurations • Participate in datacenter relocations, client migrations and disaster recovery exercises Qualifications • 8+ years of experience in mainframe hardware, software engineering • 8+ years of experience in mainframe hardware components, system architecture, and troubleshooting techniques • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, work, and military service Requirements • Understanding of standard networking protocols and components such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, ICMP, subnetting, and load balancing strategies • Certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Specialist) may be advantageous How you’ll work • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment • This role requires being on-call during non-standard and/or overnight hours on a rotating basis Apply Job!
