National Gypsum Company is a leading provider of high-performance building products. They are seeking a Financial Accountant to support core accounting operations, including month-end and year-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting while assisting with audits and providing cross-functional support.
Responsibilities
- Execute daily, weekly and monthly accounting activities to ensure timely workflow and recording of financial transactions
- Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements
- Perform activities related to the monthly closing process, including preparing journal entries and completing accrual and reserve calculations
- Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations as required by company accounting policies
- Complete external financial statement audit requests
- Complete quarterly and annual governmental surveys
- Perform ad hoc analysis and other tasks in support of the finance team, including FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Property Accounting, and Operations Accounting, as required
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field
- 1-2 years public/private general accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, including Word and Excel
- Demonstrated appropriate experience including communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Extensive organizational skills including the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- CPA Certification
- Prior SAP experience
- Experience with OneStream
- Experience with AI/automation
