Join our Finance team in the Americas region!
As Financial Accountant you will be responsible of managing core
accounting activities, including operational accounting, intercompany
reconciliations, and the preparation of financial statements in accordance with
NIF and Mexican/US tax regulations. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity
of financial records through general ledger, balance sheet, bank
reconciliations, and supports the month-end close process.
The position also
oversees the accounts payable function to ensure accurate invoice processing,
timely vendor payments, and compliance with internal controls.
Main responsibilities:
Financial Accounting
- Maintain full ownership of the general ledger, ensuring
accurate recording of financial transactions and appropriate allocation of
costs.
- Perform and review monthly GL, balance sheet,
and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare, review, and submit financial statements (P&L and balance
sheet), and profitability reports in accordance with IFRS/NIF
- Support and manage the month-end close
process.
- Prepare financial reports
and supporting documentation for senior management and external audits.
- Ensure financial records and documentation.
Taxes
- Calculate and review monthly and annual
tax obligations per entity (Federal & Sate tax USA).
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax
returns.
- Maintain full compliance with applicable
Mexican tax laws.
- Liaise with external auditors and transfer pricing advisors.
Intercompany Transactions
- Shared services –
ensuring costs are timeously recovered.
- Reconciliation of shared
service actual costs against shared service income.
- Analysis of shared
service cost allocations and recoveries.
Accounts Payable
- Oversee
the accounts’ payable function, ensuring accurate processing and recording of
supplier invoices.
- Perform
and review supplier (creditor) reconciliations.
- Review
and approve bank reconciliations related to payment activities.
Requirements
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, (CPA license desired, career accountant profile).
- Minimum
of 4–5 years of experience in general accounting and financial operations.
- Strong
hands-on experience in:
- Intercompany transaction management
and reconciliation.
- GL reconciliation and month-end
closing.
- P&L and balance sheet
preparation and analysis.
- Experience in high-volume,
perishable or commodity-based industries, managing consignment inventory,
provisional pricing, and post-sale cost settlements.
- Solid
knowledge of US and Mexican tax laws, international treaties, and
financial reporting standards (NIF/IFRS).
- Proven
experience in process automation and working with accounting systems.
- Advanced English required.
- Adaptability to work across cultures and time zones.
- Accounting for
agriculture, grower operations, or fresh produce (preferred).
Key competences, tools and knowledge:
- Advanced
skills in Excel.
- Experience
with ERP systems including NetSuite (preferred), Contpaqi and related
accounting software.
- Skilled
in using Mexican government tax portal (SAT, banking platforms).
- Experience with Federal & State tax in the USA
