They will ensure the expeditious resolution of claims through a process that is administered with sensitivity to the burdens placed upon claimants impacted by the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Fire and resulting losses as further defined by Congress.Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:Reasonable accommodation will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the following essential functions:• Provide technical assistance in support of the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office (Claims Office), by receiving, evaluating, and processing claims for compensatory damages for injuries from the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Fire.• Adjusting a wide range of insurance claims based on disaster related damage to avoid duplication of benefits.• Communicating effectively orally and in writing for the purposes of exchanging information with stakeholders in meetings, by telephone, and email.• Working with teammates and partners to address insurance matters as required by statute, regulation, and policy.• In addition to the above tasks, the those is a Team Lead role may:• Interact and coordinate with the designated Federal coordinator, FEMA senior leaders, and third-party attorneys.• Oversee and ensure all assigned work is completed within the timeframes specified in the contract.• May serve as the designated POC to correspond with attorneys, prep for attorney meetings, and discuss complex issues during meetings with attorneys.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Should have thorough knowledge of Public Assistance eligibility, law, regulations, and policies, and familiarity with other FEMA Programs (e.g., Individual Assistance, Hermit's Peak Program, etc.).Supervisory Responsibilities:May have lead kevel responsibilities within projects or small teams depending on function with senior level support.Expected Hours of Work:Schedule may vary.
