Our team members are passionate about making a difference in the lives of our customers, and we're excited to welcome like-minded individuals to our team. **Job Summary** As a Customer Service Representative II - Part Time, you'll be responsible for assisting in the resolution of complex customer issues related to City billing, permits, and business license processing. You'll work closely with customers to understand their needs, provide accurate information, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner. This role requires a strong skillset in customer service, communication, and problem-solving, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. **Key Responsibilities** * Assist in resolving complex customer issues related to City billing, permits, and business license processing * Provide accurate and timely information to customers via phone, email, and in-person interactions * Research and analyze customer complaints to identify root causes and develop effective solutions * Compose letters of explanation to customers detailing complex application issues, including spreadsheets and transaction history * Interpret State Statutes, City Charter, City Ordinances, and City billing, permitting, and licensing policies for customers * Assist in preparing and conducting training for subordinate staff in all areas, including computer functions * Maintain accurate records and documentation related to customer interactions and issue resolutions * Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex customer issues and improve customer satisfaction **Working Conditions** This role is based in a normal office setting with the possibility of hybrid work arrangements. You'll have access to modern office equipment and technology, as well as a collaborative and supportive work environment. **Minimum Qualifications** * High School Diploma or equivalent * Two years of related experience (or equivalent) in customer service or a related field * Strong communication and problem-solving skills * Ability to work effectively in a team environment * Basic computer skills and knowledge of office software **Preferred Qualifications** * Thorough knowledge of customer service issues in the area assigned * Knowledge of payment processing and check-in related to the area where assigned * Good knowledge of office methods, procedures, and equipment * Good working knowledge of computers and various programs/systems used in the area assigned * Good knowledge of State laws and City Ordinances governing billing of utilities and water disconnection, other City billing, treasury accounts receivable processing, and permits and licenses provided by the City * Knowledge of specific dispute resolution processes, programs, and procedures in the area assigned * Ability to deal with customers tactfully and effectively * Good organizational skills **Selection Process** The selection process will consist of one or more of the following steps: a rating of relevant education and experience (100%). It is essential that your application show all the relevant education and experience you possess. This information will be used to determine which candidates will proceed in the selection process. A submitted application is also used to verify the answers to any supplemental questions. Only those candidates who attain a passing score (70%) on each step in the selection process will be placed on the eligible list. **Background Check** The City has determined that a criminal background check and/or qualifications check may be necessary for certain positions with this job title. Applicants may be required to sign an informed consent form allowing the City to obtain their criminal history and/or verify their qualifications in connection with the position sought. Applicants who do not sign the informed consent form will not be further considered for the position. **Union Representation** This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement between arenaflex and the AFSCME General Unit. Applicants will be required to sign a notification and consent form prior to undergoing drug and alcohol testing. Applicants who do not consent to undergo drug and alcohol testing will not be required to do so and arenaflex will withdraw the conditional job offer, resulting in the job applicant no longer being considered for the position. **Eligible List Statement** The names of applicants who meet minimum qualification and who pass the screening process shall be placed on the eligible list for employment consideration. This list will be certified to the hiring manager who may use the list to fill a vacancy of the same job title. This eligible list will expire 1 month after it has been established. **Interview Selection** The hiring authority reserves the right to determine the maximum number of candidates to interview from the established eligible list.
