Great American Insurance Group is a leader in the insurance industry, offering opportunities for growth and development. They are seeking a D&O Financial Institutions Underwriter to market, underwrite, and produce profitable business while maintaining strong relationships with brokers.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for an assigned book of business in which account information is evaluated, underwritten, and priced within authority guidelines
- Risk selection/rejection, retention, growth, and profitability within scope of authority and per divisional objectives
- The underwriter is expected to perform financial statement analysis of prospective risks and make recommendations on pricing and terms consistent with underwriting guidelines
- Service complex multi-line risks
- Communicates directly with Brokers to develop and maintain strong relationships
- Conduct marketing visits out of state
- Promptly issue quotes, policies, and endorsements
- Understand, compare, and contrast policy language both internal and competitor forms
- Performs additional duties as assigned
Skills
- Generally, 0 to 5 years of insurance, banking, financial institution or related experience
- Bachelor's degree is required, with a focus in Finance, Accounting or other Business-related field
- High level of organizational skills, and the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to leverage excellent customer relationships, and to provide opportunities for marketing products and services
- Must be able to travel as needed and work autonomously
