Leads, manages, develops, recruits team members, often across multiple regions. Manages financial activities such as detailed bottoms-up budget generation and ongoing forecasts for the compliance subjects assigned at a global/regional level. Assesses and owns relevant Environmental Health and Safety and Compliance processes to drive risk mitigation and identify improvement opportunities for the operating business.ResponsibilitiesTeam ManagementIs a strategic leader who directs the activities of a broad functional area and recommends implementing changes to methods of a broad functional area through managersLeads, manages, recruits, develops compliance staff, often across multiple regions/countries for relevant/assigned compliance related subjectsOverall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, priorities, recommending and implementing changes to methodsAudits & CertificationsHas sign-off authority on internal audit plansDecides overall audit strategy for the function assignedSigns-off criteria and controls for internal auditProvides strategic leadership guidance and consulting in any audit finding escalations within operationsManages overall certification portfolio for the subjects assignedApproves any new certification requests per input from relevant stakeholdersManagement SystemsOwns management system assets relevant to compliance subject assignedProvides final sign-off on updates to management system assets under scopeProgram ManagementOwn, manage, and track overall budget for assigned scope of workOversee Environmental Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, and Compliance projectsGenerate and analyze metrics to identify and recommend process improvementsDrives global program accountability down through the regions, leveraging data and audit findingsStands as the primary interface and point of escalation for all regional first-line compliance teamsTrainingRecommends training efforts relevant to compliance subjects managedManages an overall training program across the compliance footprint for subjects managedSupports the development and utilization of centralized certification repositories1st Line ResponsibilitiesStrong project management skills with a proven record of leading/executing complex projects across multiple businesses and/or jurisdictions.Leads global projects relevant to compliance in conjunction with Global Ops Compliance or other functions within EquinixProvides subject matter guidance on overall strategy for compliance in EquinixAbility to advise and influence at the most senior levels of the orgnaization.2nd Line Responsibilities Responsible for measuring and monitoring overall health of compliance programsPlans budget for required and requested training and other resources for Compliance teamOversees co-ordination of regional/global teams/staffSets and tracks objectives for regional/global teams/staffProvides subject matter guidance and expertise on overall compliance strategy for the subject(s) assignedCompliance Implementation/ConsultingIs an escalation resource for high risk company level risks / compliance issuesExplores the industry to identify best practices in compliance subjects and strategizes deployment of the same within Equinix at a global/regional levelParticipates in external compliance regulatory bodies and conferences as an active member of advisory boardsQualificationsTypically 10+ years of experience in relevant field of compliance is preferredBachelor's or Master's Degree in a related subject preferredRelevant certification(s) preferredQualified lead auditor/implementer in multiple standards preferredThis posting is for a backfill position, meaning it is to fill an existing vacancy within our organization.The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 154,000 - 232,000 CAD / AnnualUnited States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 155,000 - 233,000 USD / AnnualOur pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
