Temporary In‑House Attorney (Contract Role) Location: Remote Schedule: 20 hours per week (7AM-4PM or 8AM-5PM) Duration: 4-6 months Compensation: $50-$60 per hour About the Role We are seeking a Temporary In‑House Attorney to support overflow project work for a busy corporate legal department. This role focuses heavily on contract drafting, negotiation, and review, particularly involving procurement agreements, NDAs, and various commercial contracts. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, efficient, and able to collaborate seamlessly with internal business teams while maintaining a practical, business‑forward approach to legal issues. Key Responsibilities • Develop a working knowledge of the company's templates, playbooks, and standard contracting positions • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including procurement agreements and NDAs • Collaborate with internal business units and external counsel to deliver timely contract edits and guidance • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal departments to support contract processes • Research legal issues and advise internal clients on compliance, policy, and operational considerations • Demonstrate understanding of common commercial terms (e.g., Incoterms, title transfer, risk of loss) and how they apply to company contracts • Handle additional duties and projects as assigned Minimum Qualifications • Juris Doctor (JD) • Active California bar license • 3+ years of contract drafting and negotiation experience • Strong communication and writing skills • Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline‑driven environment All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
