The Analyst in Investment Finance will drive daily and month-end accounting cycles, enhance financial reporting skills, and support compliance and financial analysis across various management entities. Responsibilities - Preparing journal entries impacting various accounting cycles (e.g. Sales/AR, expense/AP and accruals, intercompany chargebacks, prepaids, capital assets, other) - Preparing bank and accounts receivable account reconciliations as part of the financial reporting process with appropriate analysis and supporting documentation - Preparing monthly and year-end working papers with appropriate analysis and supporting documentation for annual financial reporting and audit purposes - Assisting with compliance of expenditure approval policy and partnering with Accounts Payable team for review of expense classifications and accounts payable reconciliations - Assisting with compilation of information for compliance reporting - Preparing schedules and reports requested by Investment Finance and Corporate Financial Reporting - Preparing variance analysis on financial data - Preparing regulatory reports including reports to Statistics Canada, U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, Office for National Statistics and CRA - Assisting in accounting research and finance issues as assigned and providing summary reports - Assisting with identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives and efficiencies - Preparing quarterly/annual financial statements - Assisting with tax filings when required - Other contributions, as the team may need and as opportunities arise Skills - University degree in Business or related discipline - Enrolment in Chartered Professional Accountant program - High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools especially Excel (intermediate to advanced level) - Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills - A strong team player able to operate in a fast-paced environment with numerous priorities and deadlines with effective organization time management skills - Knowledge of ASPE and IFRS accounting - Oracle experience Benefits - Annual Incentive Award pursuant to our Short-term Incentive plan - Long-Term Incentive plan - Group benefits - Retirement plans Company Overview - Founded in 1962, OMERS is one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans, with $145.2 CAD billion in net assets as at December 31, 2025.
