Premera Blue Cross is dedicated to improving healthcare and empowering its employees. The Accountant I role involves ensuring accurate accounting for critical transactions, managing month-end closing processes, and supporting senior accountants with reconciliations and audits.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for monthly close processes including journal entries, reconciliations and variance analyses
- Develop, analyze and interpret accounting data
- Support senior accountants with account reconciliations as well as in their work with internal and external auditors
- Seek out opportunities for process improvement or to gain efficiency
- Research, investigate, and resolve accounting, reconciliation and system discrepancies
- Proactively identifies issues and independently works to resolve completion
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or (4) years' experience in accounting or related field
- One (1) year of relevant experience
- Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience working with Workday or a similar application
