Geotechnical Engineer

They are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to perform and oversee geotechnical field explorations, design foundations, and develop geotechnical reports, while working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams. Responsibilities Perform and oversee geotechnical field explorations, including test borings, rock coring, test pits, cone penetration testing, hand augers, and other methods Perform construction monitoring of earth retaining structures, deep foundations (drilled shafts, piles), and shallow foundations Prepare boring logs and subsurface profiles Design of shallow and deep foundations and earth-retaining structures Perform liquefaction and consolidation settlement analyses Perform Finite Element modeling using PLAXIS and or FLAC Develop geotechnical reports Perform Pavement Design and develop Pavement Reports Design Ground Improvement including deep soil mixing, rigid inclusions, chemical Develop Contract documents including drawings and specifications Work in collaborative multi-disciplinary teams from across North America Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, are dependable, and meet all assigned project deadlines Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines Skills Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required Must be a US Citizen Master of Science in Civil Engineering is required 1-3 years of experience on geotechnical projects Willingness and flexibility to travel for work Good verbal and written communication skills Computer skills including CADD, and Microsoft Office A driver's license and reliable vehicle will be required Benefits Medical Dental Vision Basic life insurance 401(k) plan Ability to purchase company stock at a discount Deferred compensation plan Executive Deferral Plan Unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) Seven paid holidays One floating holiday Caregiver leave Merit increases Performance discretionary bonus Stock Company Overview Jacobs leads the global professional services sector delivering solutions for a more connected, sustainable world.
