Fast Track Desk Adjuster (Primarily Home)

About the position Responsibilities • Provide excellent customer service by phone or through written correspondence. • Conduct fast, accurate investigations including obtaining necessary documents and forms from claimants and insureds. • Evaluate and investigate policy coverage, liability, and damages promptly following claim and statutory guidelines. • Establish initial reserves for all potential exposures and adjust throughout the claim process. • Communicate with involved parties and negotiate appropriate settlements with claimants, insureds, and occasionally body shops and attorneys. • Determine appropriate method of inspection based on loss facts and ensure completion of appraisals for accident-related damages. • Manage assigned inventory following company guidelines. • Review and process mail relating to assigned claims. • Recognize recovery opportunities relating to subrogation and salvage. • Identify suspicious claim characteristics and refer such claims to the Special Investigations Unit for review. Requirements • 0 - 1 year of insurance claims, customer service, sales, and/or underwriting experience preferred, but experience in the general service industry is also acceptable. • Proficient PC and Windows skills. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Strong time management, critical thinking, organization, and negotiation skills. • Experience providing excellent customer service. • Ability to perform basic math calculations and calculate averages and percentages. • Current adjusting license or ability to acquire insurance adjuster license in the states of operation. Nice-to-haves • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service. • Basic knowledge and understanding of the claim handling process.
