Job Overview and Responsibilities As a Product Designer at American Express, you will play a critical role in lifting the overall quality of UX and UI design of digital experiences for Merchants and partners serving merchants, with an emphasis on Amex Offers. Your primary responsibilities will include: Collaborating closely with the Product, Research, Marketing, and Engineering teams to define and create designs that meet our business objectives and customer needs Delivering designs and working with Engineering to ensure proper implementation Developing knowledge-driven solutions by partnering with our Research team to incorporate customer findings and principles throughout the creative process Transforming ideas, business opportunities, partner feedback, and analysis into a vision that provides a clear, helpful, and positive outcome for Amex Merchants Regularly sharing your designs and reviewing the work of other colleagues to gain insights, feedback, and drive cross-team collaboration Seeking and sharing opportunities to refine both individual and team processes Clearly and confidently communicating with a preference for visual storytelling Being an enthusiastic advocate for the Amex Merchant Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to have: 3+ years of professional experience in product design or a related field Experience working closely with product and engineering teams in an agile environment Outstanding skills in UX and collaboration design Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (Figma preferred) Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects Experience communicating to colleagues how design delivers on customer and business objectives A Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant work experience Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred: Experience implementing UX writing and microcopy best practices Understanding of information architecture and how to apply it to design Experience creating project maps and service blueprints to understand and communicate a full end-to-end experience Experience using or contributing to design systems and DesignOps Experience working in a heavily regulated industry or on a project with significant design constraints A portfolio showcasing your end-to-end design process Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At American Express, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
