As a Music Educator with our organization, you'll have the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds and make a lasting impact on their educational journey. **Job Highlights** * Competitive salary * Immediate openings available * Remote work opportunity * 10-month employee position (temporary if hired after August 28, 2023) * Reports to Building Principal * Current teacher salary schedule * Opportunities for career growth and professional development **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** As a K-12 General Music Teacher, you'll be responsible for teaching skills in music understanding and appreciation, harmony, explorations in music, and choral music to elementary pupils. Your duties will include: * Planning and executing a balanced music program that meets the needs of each pupil * Providing individual and small group instruction to adapt the music curriculum to the needs of each student * Encouraging students to develop individual musical skills to the greatest extent possible * Utilizing a repertoire of all types of music literature, including traditional and contemporary music that are appropriate for the ages and skill levels of pupils * Maintaining care and responsibility for school-owned music, musical instruments, and equipment to prevent loss or abuse * Evaluating each pupil's musical growth, performance, and musical understanding * Assessing each individual's contribution to the performance of the group * Selecting appropriate music, books, and instructional aides to enhance learning and requisitioning musical instruments and instructional supplies as necessary * Cooperating with Building Principal and staff in providing musical programs for school assemblies, open house, parent meetings, and seasonal programs * Encouraging students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior * Communicating with parents on pupil progress * Performing other duties as assigned by the principal **Physical Demands** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
