They are seeking a Data Scientist 1 who will utilize SQL, Python, and Tableau to create dashboards, develop data models, and implement machine learning algorithms to optimize pricing and enhance merchant behavior analysis. Responsibilities Use SQL, Python and Tableau to create product performance dashboards that can be used by different teams across the company Keep abreast of the latest research in the field of Machine Learning through papers and conferences Compute and present product performance on a monthly basis to the leadership team Develop production quality code with tests and documentation While working under the direction of senior data scientists and management team, build data analytics and statistical models focusing on pricing optimization initiatives and their impact on merchant behavior Implement large-scale data mining and machine learning algorithms and data model pipelines in a software production environment Perform exploratory data analysis to understand the correlation between target performance and platform features Report feedback to senior data scientists and management team Utilize data mining technologies and various data sources, such as Pay Pal user behavior data, inventory data, and transaction data in both batch and real time mode, to create platform performance data models Work closely with team members to develop efficient algorithms for platform performance models and improve the algorithms by using state-of-the-art data analytics research work Build, under the supervision of senior data scientists and management team, machine learning models and perform data mining Utilize knowledge of Pay Pals internal and proprietary data mining technologies and data sources to develop modeling tools that produce robust predictive models to support business initiatives Work on expanding PayPal platform capabilities by building machine learning models with continuous feedback loops Skills Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information, Engineering, or a closely related field Machine learning Statistics Analytics Deep learning Image recognition Natural language processing Python SQL Data visualization Tableau Benefits Flexible work environment Employee shares options Health and life insurance Company Overview PayPal is a financial service company that provides online payment solutions to its users worldwide.
