Data Architect (Remote Opportunity)

As a Data Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance data systems that support operational and clinical decision-making. You will work closely with analysts, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to integrate data from diverse sources, optimize data pipelines, and ensure reliable access to critical information. This role requires expertise in modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and healthcare data standards. You will develop and maintain databases, data lakes, and APIs to deliver actionable insights, while maintaining compliance with security and governance policies. The position offers a fully remote work environment within the continental US and allows you to directly impact healthcare data management for a large-scale federal program. Accountabilities: · Design, build, and maintain scalable data architectures, pipelines, and storage solutions. · Integrate data from multiple healthcare and operational systems, ensuring interoperability and quality. · Develop and optimize ETL processes for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and storage. · Implement and enforce data governance, security, and compliance standards across all platforms. · Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver actionable data solutions. · Develop and maintain APIs and data services to provide secure access to data assets. · Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data systems while documenting architectures, flows, and specifications. · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field. · 5–10 years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or database development. · Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). · Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, or ETL frameworks (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks). · Experience with cloud data platforms, data warehousing, and API development. · Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards, preferably in healthcare. · Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills. · Strong communication skills, including technical documentation and cross-team collaboration. · Additional qualifications include familiarity with big data tools (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka), data visualization (Power BI, Tableau), healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR), and prior experience with federal healthcare programs. · Medical, dental, and vision coverage. · 401(k) with employer match. · Paid time off plus federal holidays. · Corporate laptop for remote work. · Training and professional development opportunities. · Fully remote work within the continental US.
