About the position The Cyber Security Analyst I position at BAE Systems involves analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving security issues to protect the company's systems from internal and external threats. The role requires maintaining security controls, researching security breaches, and administering security policies. The position supports skill advancement through training and mentoring, and it operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring both onsite and remote work. Responsibilities • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve issues with security controls and defenses. • Research attempted or successful efforts to compromise system security and design countermeasures. • Maintain hardware, software, and network firewalls and encryption protocols. • Administer security policies to control access to systems. • Create and assess documentation for Risk Management Framework (RMF). • Update and manage documentation for Authorization to Operate (ATO) maintenance. Requirements • BS degree in Information Systems/Computer Science with 1-2 years of experience. • Ability to secure a Security certification within 6 months of employment. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation using industry accepted methods. • High level of personal motivation and initiative to learn new skills. • Knowledge of cybersecurity governance and auditing in software/IT environments. • Project experience with administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting Linux (SUSE, RHEL, and other variants). Nice-to-haves • Security certification or higher. • RMF experience with EMASS preferred.
