Continuous Improvement Manager

The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead projects dedicated to improving operational productivity and processes for the Stryker Sustainability Solutions (SSS) business unit at our manufacturing facilities in the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan area. The key responsibility of this role will be to champion our Continuous Improvement efforts and implement process improvements in all areas of the SSS manufacturing process. This will require creating a culture of Continuous Improvement, leading cross-functional improvement teams, and managing projects designed to achieve the lowest overall costs and improve processes using Lean Methodology. WHAT YOU WILL DO: • The Continuous Improvement Manager will tenaciously pursue opportunities to eliminate waste in processes and create a Continuous Improvement culture. • While you will be a member of the site’s senior leadership team, this role is an individual contributor role (there are no direct reports to this position). • Utilizing Kaizen, Value-Stream Mapping, Standard Work and other Lean tools, this role will lead the transformational initiative to reduce costs and to identify and implement process improvements in medical device reprocessing. • Drive the development, assessment, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to simplify processes, eliminate waste, reduce operational risk and achieve cost efficiencies in the SSS medical device reprocessing. • Identify and implement strategies to create efficiencies within existing headcount and layout. • Partner with local management to define relevant process KPI’s including ownership and variable that serve as the KPI inputs. Coordinate with peers and remote leaders to align with Corporate CI initiatives. • Support improvement initiatives through robust data driven analytics, validate cost savings with Finance and other business leaders. • Train, coach, and mentor teams and individuals within the business on Lean concepts and support the business to meet/exceed budgets. • Develop a customer-focused continuous improvement framework that documents and monitors performance. • Serve as a change agent who can motivate diverse groups across the organization in implementing new programs and ideas. WHAT YOU NEED: • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or a Technical discipline preferred) • 8+ years related work experience • Lean or Lean Six Sigma certification • Internal consulting: the ability to influence change without direct authority at all levels from executive leaders to hourly workforce. This includes verbal and written communication skills for all audiences within the organization. • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects, programs and other business goals on time, on budget, and meeting or exceeding product quality. • 1+ years supervisory/management experience - preferred • Experience with strategy deployment (Hashin Kanri, goal deployment, etc.) to advise and coach factory management - preferred Apply tot his job
