Cloud Application Developer (Remote Opportunity)

VetsEZ is seeking a Cloud Application Developer to be a part of a remote team. This candidate should have experience in cloud-based technology, with a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications. An ideal candidate is able to design, implement, test, and maintain cloud services platforms. The candidate must reside within the continental US. Responsibilities: • Work with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions. • Optimize performance, scale out and build resiliency in the platform. • Contribute to developing best practices for Infrastructure as Code, software build tools, and Continuous Integration. • Play a key role in migrating and transforming legacy solutions to the cloud. • Design Native Cloud Application Architectures and optimize applications for AWS • Administration of Cloud services, monitoring, logging, and alerting. • Advising and implementing AWS best practices. • Work as both an infrastructure and application development specialist. • Implement DevOps practices, such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration and automated deployment. Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Systems, Business, or related scientific/technical discipline. • Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience. • Experience architecting, designing and programming applications in an AWS cloud environment. • Designing and building application using Container and serverless technologies. • Strong practical application development experience on Linux and Windows-based systems. • Experience with AWS technologies • Has experience with AWS technologies including solid understanding of S3, EBS, EC2, EFS, RDS, ECS, IAM, ELB/ALB, VPC, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, KMS, System Manager, Route53, and Secrets Manager. • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and network requirements for cloud to on premise connectivity. • Ability to code/script in administrative type languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, Ruby), but also traditional programming languages such as Java and data serialization languages (JSON, YAML). • Experience with orchestration technologies (e.g., AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.). • Experience with cloud-based software development tools and methodologies (e.g., Git, CI/CD, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, Build Automation and Testing, etc.). • Must have experience in systems management in a cloud-computing environment including the use of virtualization, load balancing, auto-scaling, networked storage, etc. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working with VA or other health-related organizations. • Ability to obtain a government clearance. • Ability to work effectively in a multi-stakeholder, agile and DevSecOps environment.
