About the opportunity: The Clinic Scheduler is responsible for answering incoming phone calls, fielding questions about scheduling with providers, directing calls to appropriate parties, taking and distributing messages, and scheduling appointments. What you will do: • Schedules medical appointments through coordination of patients, providers, locations, payers, etc. • Receives and initiates calls to and from patients, providers, outside provider offices, while following established scheduling procedures and protocols. • Appropriately schedules appointments, tests and/or procedures, leveraging the electronic health record (EHR) scheduling software. • Promptly answers incoming calls in a professional manner and scheduling of patient appointments. • Obtains patient demographics with accuracy to include but not limited to patient address information, telephone number and insurance information from the patient. • Manages electronic requests through drop box and patient portals to schedule appointments. • Distributes faxes helps manage needed requests. • Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values. • Must be HIPAA compliant This description is not intended and should not be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills and efforts or work conditions associated with the job. What you will need: Experience: • 2 years administration or similar experience preferred. • Previous medical office experience preferred. • Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.
