Job Type Full-time Description Description IDEC Corporation was founded in 1945 and is listed with the Tokyo Stock Exchange with the headquarters located in Osaka, Japan. IDEC designs, manufactures and markets control automation products throughout the world. The products which we develop with ardent devotion to safety, higher productivity and environmental improvements include switches, relays, PLCs, operator interfaces, explosion-proof products, LED lightings, and barcode readers. Most of our products are for industrial applications but some products have applications in commercial and residential fields. IDEC also provides customized control solutions, including robot system integration where absolute safety is required in places with people and robots working as a team. In recent years, our core technologies opened new businesses in renewal energy and agriculture. Automation field sales engineer has the ability to grow and manage IDEC business in a defined market place. They should have the ability to identify potential customers, help solve application problems and issues that may arise. Develop and train both existing and new distribution partners in the marketplace as required. Identify and make decisions about existing and new partners. Generate new opportunities for IDEC’s control and automation products, ability to influence design at end customers. Educate customers and partners on IDEC products. The job requires a solid technical back ground, to be able to identify the right opportunities, and have good sales and business acumen to convince customers to use IDEC products and partners to promote IDEC over competitive alternatives. Requirements RequirementsDuties/Responsibilities: • Developing and maintaining customer contacts through planned sales calls to existing and prospective customers. • Increasing the level of IDEC OEM business, based on company strategy and business plan. • Identifying and participation in the customer design cycle. Early participation in the design cycle increases the probability of being involved in the final customer outcome. • A proven track record of closing the sale. • Logging all activity in a CRM, currently IDEC uses Salesforce as its CRM. • Ability to work with customers and product marketing to help define and develop custom products, ability to document and communicate requirements. • Occasionally help in trouble shooting bugs and problems at customer site. • The ability to solve application and problems or issues with standards that the customer may encounter. Ability to communicate these as required. • Good knowledge of PLC programming conventions and automation design applications. • Basic knowledge of safety strategies and standards for the industrial market. • Work with distributors and customer's engineering staff to have IDEC products specified. • Communicate with internal and external customers regarding new or improved IDEC products and other opportunities in the channel. • Conduct IDEC product training sessions, and new product updates, for distributions and end-user OEMs. Handle sales promotions. • Prepare quotes for special price competition. • Make recommendations for adding or reducing local distributions. • Assist OEMs in the technical design and implementation of their products through the production stage, while promoting IDEC products. • Motivate distributor channel to improve performance. • Submittal of all reports in a timely manner a required. • Assist other territories not covered under current positions as requested and required. • Assist other territories not covered under current position. Education:· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous. Experience:· Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical sales, field engineering, or related roles.· Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.· Experience in B2B sales, preferably in technical or engineering-focused industries.· Familiarity with sales methodologies and CRM systems. Technical Skills:· Strong technical aptitude with a solid understanding of engineering principles and technologies.· Proficiency in presenting technical concepts and solutions to diverse audiences.· Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into actionable technical proposals.· Familiarity with relevant software applications and tools, such as CAD software and technical documentation. Sales Skills:· Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.· Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams.· Proactive approach to identifying and pursuing sales opportunities.· Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Industry Knowledge:· Understanding of market trends, industry standards, and competitive landscape.· Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements.· Ability to stay updated on emerging technologies and industry developments. Travel:· A willingness to travel frequently to meet with clients, attend trade shows, and visit project sites as required 50%.Additional Requirements:· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.· Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving sales objectives.· Adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.· Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
